Python 991 Responder LC3 SST Security/Remote Start System Review
First off I was an installer for four years and have installed many, many alarms/remote starts over the years. I have always been partial to any DEI product (Viper,Python,Clifford,etc..). This one is downright amazing! The range is outstanding (however there is sometimes a small lag from when you push the button, to when it actually responds but nothing bad though). You can check the temperature inside your vehicle when it’s remote starting too. It’s built right in! The antenna, valet switch, and blinking warning blue LED are all one easy plug in module too. Makes it much easier, but limits your placement somewhat. I actually added on a discontinued module that allows me to hook up more LED’s to it. I actually ended up putting an LED into each one of my front corner lights, and my two back-up lights so they all flash when armed. COOL LOOK! From an installation perspective all of the relays are built into the brain so it is just one reasonably sized brain box to mount. The remote’s backlighting can be programmed to whatever color you want too. Since the main remote is a two-way it will tell you whatever is going on in easy to read format. It also has a clock on it, which is a nice feature too. The rechargable feature is amazing too. The older product used to eat through batteries. I have had it for 3 or 4 weeks so far and have charged it once. Right now it is showing only one bar missing! I honestly don’t think I have one complaint other than it has an occasional lag (which doesn’t really bother me). Seller was prompt with shipping, and I would highly recommend this product. I would recommend letting a professional handle the install if you don’t know what you are doing though. AWESOME PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!

I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this remote starter for my wife’s car based on the reviews others had left. I went over it with my brother, who has installed around 10 or 12 remote starters over the years. He didn’t think it would be a major problem to install and he was correct. Now, I would not recommend going about this process by yourself unless you know what you are doing. My brother had this one installed and in perfect working order within 45 minutes.
He had done research ahead of time so that he knew which wire colors operated which equipment in the car. He also has wire testers and the correct connectors already so installation really was a snap.
Again, if you don’t know what you are doing you WILL have problems installing a remote starter. It really is not a Do It Yourself type of easy project. The other product reviews I see on this item seem to point to people thinking that they would be able to open the box of the starter, pop a couple of screws from under the steering column, and everything will be labelled right there, easy to read, ready to install. This is just not the case. You need to know what wire colors perform which tasks (parking lights, ignition coil, horn, etc). Without this information, you are screwed.
Again, I couldn’t be happier with my starter, and the fact that I got it for under delivered is even better.

I bought this item,and my son installed it in his 1999 Ford Explorer. It Works Great! You have to have electronics/wiring experience to install it (which my son does). There are more than enough options on this system to operate all types of gagets on your automobile from doorlocks,windows,heat/ac,hood/trunk latches,sunroof,ect. The remote start unit is awesome! [NOTE:You must purchase a transponder bypass "not included with this system" for remote start for automobiles with ignition transponders (anti-theft).] You can’t go wrong by buying and installing this system. Great Price, and as good as anything like it on the market for alot less money! Very Pleased!
